1.4 disributor on a 1.2??

all i need to know if a 1.4 distributor will fit on a 1.2??
looks the same but i wouldnt have a clue!
any info would be appriciated

just had this problem but the other way round i have an sr 1.4 engine but 1.2 dizzy one is pin drive 1 is slot so no they wont fit

the way i ended up doing it was to fit the cam from the 1.2 but this restricts it at top end

one thing i will say though is check your 1.2 cam as mine had both pin and slot drive if this is the case it may work the way around you want to do it
