:tard:

Trying to fit my 16v calipers and they don't seem to want to fit over the discs I've got. They're fully compressed but not enoguh to be able to slot the disc between the pads. Not sure what the problem is? They're both Astra stuff so should be fine?

Here's the calipers and discs I've got...

Can anyone shed some light on the situation?

Cheers.

how much are they out to slide past the pads.

About 4-5mm. As in the discs are about 4-5mm wider than the gap between the pads.

Discs are too thick. Are you sure you got the right ones?

Or just shave some pad off.

Certain the discs are the right size.

Is it just me or do the pads look like there on a angle? tried to spread the pads aprt?

Mine were very tight to start with.

Aye that's just because the disc is balanced on them. I remember my old ones were tight when I did it but got them on in the end. Can't remember what we did though.

Hmmm, Where the calipers deffo 256x24mm? Seems weird :wtf:

EDIT: Just read up there. Not a clue then

You are supposed to fit the caliper/bracket seperate anyway, instead of trying to slip it over the disc....
But i cant see that making much difference anyways...

Yep definately, just compared them next to my brothers set and they're identical.

Measure the length of the material on the brake pad and compare it to this:

I suspect that you've got TD calipers and pads.

Mine are the same dimensions as those.

try taking the metal clip off and try it as it will be pushing the pads a bit.
