ok - back seats are out and whatever, was going for the "stripped out race look" and decided that it ended up as rattly as shit and bit messy look.
so, now that iv found myself in a little bit of money for a change  im going to have a bash at a proper boot build. at the moment i have a false floor with sub and amp sat there, lonely.
wana do a nice proper looking build, with the possibility of couple extra subs and amps perhaps? main questions on my mind are to stick with the old trusty MDf or go inventive with fibreglass and all sorts? anyone done this before - well im sure someone has. any tips? words of warning etc??
Cheers in advance for any help
James

you want to make the basis of it on MDF, and then if you choose to cover it in fibreglass etc afterwards then fine, but MDF will be more rigid........
Heres one i made earlier..... I made this one out of 12mm MDF, i think the 18mm is to heavy. Its all sealed wit grit fill, does the job nicely! Will look better once subs & 6*9's are fitted.

I'm in the middle of doing a fibre glass install. At the moment its been quite easy.
First one I have done, so I'm learning as I go along.
Look in the November issue of revs. gives u a step by step guide. Just adapt it for what you want to build

doesnt really matter now any more :puppydog:
got back to my car this mornin and saw driver side door lock had huge hole in it and was hanging out, car was unlocked, looked inside, everything turned upside down, headunit and sub etc all gone, some of my girlfriends stuff, thieving bastards.
So need to get some more gear before designing anything for it to sit in!!
not a happy chappy
so whats "grit fill"?
Its similar 2 a silicone sealant, but goes rock hard, like purflex, but harder (well mine does neway!)

Sorry to here what happened :( .
Would a fibreglass build sound as good cos the mdf will be a warmer sound if you know what i mean? Plus would the whole car not be more rattly with a fibreglass install?
Never seen a fibreglass build anyone got any pics? Am i talking poo cos i dont know anything about fibreglass installs only about the fibreglass i build my bike farings and fix bodywork with. Are we talking about the same stuff??
