Anyone here with a bit knowledge about the pioneer cdj 100s? looking into a set, look worth the price tag. Whats the opinion on them, anyone had any experiance using them. Just really for bedroom use, putting together mixes, house partys etc

100s!!!! You tight bugger!!!! lol

Ive got 400s and 1000s with a DJM800 and tbh i wouldnt go near any other make/brand they just dont come close in my eyes. The 100s are fine for what i call 'normal' mixing they come with your usual loop function, cue, skip, search. Not sure about mp3 playback tho?? These 100s dont have scratch capabilitys tho but im guessing thats not your cuppa? What sort of music will you be mixing mate?

I'd stay away from 100's tbh, you'll find it hard to get anywhere on those. Excellant gear the Pioneer stuff though, possibly the best! I had the Mk3 1000's for a while and they were sh!t hot, cost a fortune though. I'd look into pair of Mk1 800's at least, maybe get a cheapish pair on ebay. I also had the Denon DNS5000's for a while and thought they were awesome. Unlike the Pioneers, they have proper vinyl emulation and the platter actually spins so they're spot on for learning on/ getting a feel for dj'ing. They're quite affordable too so maybe worth looking into them.

lol i know man, just cant justify £1000+ on the 1000s for bedroom banter!
Been having a swatch at the 400s, i could stretch to them for what they are offering. Still need a decent mixer though.
Not interested in mp3 playback, would never use it. Not really bothered about scratching either. I have never done scratching, would like a go but not that fussed!

Im into house and techno. Listen to a lot of Zabiela, dubfire, sebastien leger etc

Save and wait for the 400s. You say you won't be using the mp3 but I guarrantee you will in the future. I started around 2 1/2 yrs ago and went for vinyl because "I'm old school and will never use CDJs!". 6mths later I'm using CDJs. I'm now looking at going the mp3 route.

p.s. I'd stick with pioneers because if you ever do venture into a club they nearly all use pioneer stuff and it helps if you've bee used to them.

^^^ oh I agree and its all I'm using at home at the minute and I think learning on the vinyl makes you a better CDJ DJ. But reality is, depending on the music, most clubs don't cater for vinyl and if they do have technics they're almost rusted up!!!

Ive never seen denons in a club before!! Id hate to walk in and be expected to use them! I had some dns3500's but got rid after a week lol.

For what you need mate id say the 100's are perfect. the only difference between them and the 400s is the scratch, mp3 and effects. I cant see you using them much tbh.

Instead id invest in a decent mixer!! DJM400s are wicked if your only using 2 channels, i had one but traded it in as i now use 4 channels.

As you can see im very attached to my pioneers, ive had different stuff i.e. denon, loop, ecler, numark, stanton blah blah but they just dont come close!

Do you have a local Dj shop were you could go in and have a go?

Do you defonatly want table top players? You could save money if you went down the rack mount route? personally i think there crap but each to there own....

They take a bit of getting used to but open so many possibilities! Even with the best decks in the world they require constant adjustment whereas CDJs only require even so slight adjustment and they stay true leaving you to play the eq or mess with efx.

But there's nothing like the feel of vinyl!
