I have a gte manifold and a 2 pipe downpipe. (4-2-1)
Will the rest of the exhaust that is already on ther fit from the downpipe back? I got a 1.2 atm and its only for the meantime till i save for a full system! Prob be on there for a week or so!
Thanx in hand

ok.....
novas have 4 different manifold/downpipe systems
gte/gsi/sri
1.3sr/1.4sr
1.2
1.0
they are all different and non interchangable. the only bit that might b universal is the backbox, and i think there is 2/3 different versions of this with different exit angles off the centre pipe.
so if your saying u have a gte manifold and a 1.2 downpipe then no it will NOt fit sorry

I have the manifold and downpipe, but wot about thereafter?
Cheers Dicko!

it can certainly be made to fit. I have a cav sri manifold and d/p with a standard (but larger bore ) centre section going to a custom tail pipe.

back boxes are all interchangable but mk1 will catch on mk2 bumpers

thats because the back box you had on your 1.2 was off a mk3 astra :o

CAN A FULL GSi SYSTEM, MANIFOLD INCLUDED, FIT ONTO A 1.3 SR? I'VE GOT A FULL MONGOOSE SYSTEM FOR A GSi BUT IT DOESN'T MATC UP TO MY STANDARD MANIFOLD. WOULD A GSi MANIFOLD LET ME PUT THE WHOLE LOT ON?

yes

Pretty conclusive really.... it's either the whole thing or nothing.... even the sections are different lengths.

i run a gsi manfidolf and downpipes with full sri system as these are compatible, allthough my mk2 bumper meant the backbox wudnt come out at the angle mk1's do as SRI is mk2, if that makes sense, had to cut a bit outta the bumper, but then got hit up the back a few weeks later grrrrrr

what is better, a 4-2-1 manifold or a 4-1 (4 - straight into 1 bigger pipe)?

4-2-1 so iv been told! it lets the gasses flow out easier!

My new Nova sport has GSi down pipes with a GSi system, it fits but not well. I'm reckoning MK1 stuff should stay Mk1, and MK2 should stay on a Mk2, it don't appear to be that interchangable

I have got a 4-2-1 manifold and down pipe on my 1.2 The centre section and the backbox should fit.

4-2-1 is better becasue of the increased gas flow. But if you make it too big on a small car then you will loose out on needed exhaust pressure and it will run crap at low revs.

If your gonna do it just use a standard manifold off a GTE or similar. Dont get a performance manifold for a GTE etc.
