right i need a runaround, but being an old shiote, it has to be old. i can get one of these cheap, so should i? i know what the mechanicals are likeish, but do they rot?

would make a sweet run around with one off those!! but i cant tell you about the rot though matey never had experiences with one!!

my grandad had one, and the arches went, but it was abused all the time and he lived by the sea. i may ask on a vw thread. ill just deck it and fit some rims. its a 1.6 the one ive been offered...

same rust area's as a mk1 golf.

rear arches, rear chassis leg (near the axle) under the front wing and the lower corners of the front window

there's a chap in town with one, iirc it's diesel. standard tatty bodywork, on its ass with some 8x13 ats classics, and a roof rack. Cool as funk!

been to see it today, and its uber fukked. the doors, wings, slam panel boot, boot floor, sills etc are rotten. everything is seized, seen as the garage roof has leaked like a seive. such a shame. ah well i'll keep looking. sorry boys, i didnt even bother to take pics. i may buy a maxi to console me....
