got a problem with fitting new clutch on 2 8valve f16 nova. offered the new one up through the access cover and its got wedged in somehow. its got the u clamps on and compressed. try getting it out and it wont budge. will i have to take the box off? getting really f****d off now. cheers.:mad:
sounds stupid, you take the old one out?
you leave any bolts in there.
is the drive shaft right out

old 1 is out, nothin left in. the driveshaft doesnt need to come out as iam fitting it with the box in the car.
Sounds like youve got it stuck between the input shaft or release bearing. Pull the input or try and push the bearing back.
if the imput shaft can be drwn back take it back as far as poss.

It may help to slacken(not take out) the gear box bolts so it gives you a bit of play.
It will go back in just give it a little bit more room to play with.

will try that out cheers. if that doesnt work whats the easiest way of removing the box. dont want to take it out completely.
just suport the gear box and undo the bolts at the front of the box so it can be moved to the side.
