1988 Escort RS Turbo
Tested till Jan 2010
Taxed till end June 2009
It is with great regret I'm having to sell my RS Turbo. This car has had a small fortune spent on it over the last 12 months. It has had new wings, replacement doors, new sills and a respray, new brake lines and callipers (from ford!) new fuel lines the list goes on. Engine wise it has had a rebuilt bottom end, replacement gearbox, replacement driveshafts and a new turbo, with all new gaskets ect. I had it rolling roaded just after christmas and it made 197 bhp. Also has Koni adjustable suspension, 2 1/2" stainless exhaust, Pace double capacity intercooler, white dials and white boost gauge and Brand new battery.
Now for the not so good bit
While driving I heard a slight knock from the engine and was advised it was a top end knock (hence why I have a new head + cam also for sale). I had the head changed and it still knocked exactly the same therefore not a top end knock! I have now been told it's a bottom end knock that could be cured by fitting new bearings but I have simply ran out of time and money. I have a second hand bottom end to go with the car but I'm unsure of it's quality as I never heard the car run.
The car still starts and drives and there are no other faults with it.
I AM not LOOKING FOR A NOVA 2.0 16V OR E30 325 OR w.h.y??????
I have been out to start the car this morning and there was NO KNOCKING!!! I'll try to post a video of the engine running.
To answer a common question, the car starts and drives but will require a set up on the rolling road to get the best out of it.
