last night my alarm (clifford) stopped beeping when I locked/unlocked it and I thought the battery had just gone flat in the siren box but at 4:30 this morning it was blaring it's tits off and I couldn't stop it with the key fob or with taking the battery terminals off, so I cut the wire to it and thought shit it's self powered    so I ended sticking a cloth over the siren box to quiet it down, so what im wanting to know is has this ever happened to any one else with there clifford and what had to be done to fix it ? I'v allready been on the phone to gap security this morning and they will be sending someone out in a few days, will it still be covered by the guarantee ? cheers

well i had some trouble with mine and water on the terminals, wen i washed the car it would go off at rediculas times like 4.30am! took ti back to where i had it fitted and they cleaned all terminals. its ok now. no idea whats wrong with yours. im sure cutting the wires we're a good idea tho.

nah the only problem i have is when i park at a certain place my alarm does'nt work like i can lock the doors and if i move it 20 feet up the street it's ok must be something there that iterferes with the sencors and frequncey.

but i would say it's a fault as the alarm is supposed to go for 30 secs then stop and if there is somone still trying to get into your car it will go off again

when my meta messed up i dropped the self powered siren in a bucket of water... it was water proof... doh! i've since found out that alarm fitters use a bucket of sand to keep the sirens quiet while the batterys run flat

hmmmm im haveing one fitted 2moz at 9am,so im worring now :?
its like...........well known to fellow old men,i mean carlton owners, that the standard alarm was shit,
mine went off, throw its teddy in the corner etc, couldnt shut it up for love nor money, disconeted battery etc,
it was pitch black,i couldnt see fuck all,so i couldnt pull it off etc,so i just got some expandable form from the boot,
it shut the siren up,but carried on with the hazard and head lamps all nights.
cheapest surcuty and the most effective
is the good old kill switchs
