Not been looked after then! Same as ANY other car. Brother had one for years without any probs. Only the usual stuff with any engine.

best mods for a v6 is to be weighed in and replaced with something decent lol

or get it turbo'd lol that could be quite fun!!nope the **** design of these engines means they dont like taking anymore than about 7-8psi

ahhhh but the x30xe will take c20let pistons, and a decent size turbo....

its got **** all to do with the compression ratio sloth. its the **** cooling of the engine. they need SERIOUS internal water way works to improve the cooling efficientcy

just use a larger ally rad and use a air to oil cooler instead, and a cool running stat.

if its that simple then im sure beardy would have done it. he spent alot on trying all sorts of things trying to make a turbo really work on the v6 in his corsa. yes bolting one on and bodging it up you will manage to run aout 10psi safely but for all the work, hassle and money its simply not worth it

there was a chap in belgium who got a v6 to do 200mph in a calibra after throwing about 40 grand at the engine!!! Frank Denker (google him)

as said by burgo the problem is cooling when it comes to turboing/supercharging

also sloth decats aren't very good on a v6 neither are induction kits, panel filter and sports cats are better

Also sort the inlets and outlets out, gas flowing etc the exhaust side is especially restrictive, but a six branch manifold is about £800 out of germany

Could always change the block and heads for a three litre lump which is what i'm on with at the minute, mated to an f28 and happy days (also gets you around the heavy flywheel problem)

Other then that good lumps, i swear by them!!!

on stripping the v6 in the garage i noticed how tiny all the ports are, theres massive scope for improvment. if i were building a v6 i would use a 3.2 bottom end, 2.5 massively worked heads, triumph tripple TB's and make new downpipes

As said, it must have been a nail then, my Cav is on circa 135k and made standard power on a RR, and then proceeded to blow it up when it kicked down ;)

IMO the 2.5's are a really strong engine, and can get to 200bhp easily..

...when he should have just swapped it for a saab engine and had a turbo'd V6 out the box lol

jack they are the same engine and also still a **** design lol. seriously one turbo on one side lol meaning one side of the engine is working harder.... plan batman

Thats the L81. I was thinking of the later HFV6 engines; LP1 and LP9 are the ones used in saabs according to wikiturd. Different to the X25/X30 54' engines.

the v6 is made in scandinavia, but it was made at luton. there have been 2 v6 turbo corsa b's. a red one done with the 3.0 and let pistos, and a full saab v6 t powered one. the 3.0 was done by powercrazy, the saab by
just-vauxhall in hull as a track car. vauxhall built 12 c25let calibras for a small cop order, the engine is listed on the epc...
