personaly IMO i wouldnt think it to be possible the sensors are going to be different between the 2 the looms would be different and im guessing your talking about an ecotec head so i would say no but im not 100% sure i may be talking out of my **** hope someone will be able to shed more light on the subject for you

you will need to drill and tap the cam belt end for the 16V cam belt equiptment.

might aswell use a full 1.4 16V engine

And the 8v dosnt have all the points for all the sensors iirc.

Plus im presuming the pistons are different. Like stu said just find a complete engine. You can pick up a X14XE for £150 everything included.

i have been looking around for a either a 1.6 16v or 1.4 16v, would prefer the 1.4 so id stay in the same class, anyone know of a one knocking about? need all the bits to do a conversion, not bothered about the box as i have my own that i have played around with that i would bolt on.

Check MIG or even people breaking corsas.

If you need any help/advice PM me.

And Novacabiro (spelling) did have one or two. Check his posts i guess/PM him.

i have a couple of x14xe's and loads of random bits.

you could turn a c14se into 16v but not worth it. main thing is that pistons 100% have to be changed.

pretty simple conversion.

you wanna fit the engine and alternator and check the clearance for the multi v alternator belt, if its fine then use the multi V set up...

done several small block 16v conversions so any questions just ask

cambelt points are on the head and on the oil pump so no no drilling/tap-ing needed
