That kind to be exact... have always been somewhat dubious of the peanut buttering so decided to try it on a car that wasn't mine lol

Cue test subject: offensive french barge thing.

Complete with white bumpers roughly of the "mix in paint" shade. If there's a full on test of peanut buttering bumpers, then this is it.

half and half shot shows some improvement, but it seems this useless french plastic is beyond saving... still maybe after hitting those magic 51 layers it will look better (please note: I cannot and will not be assed to actually do this).

finished front, a definite improvement from before.

But the real testament to peanut butter was this:

Thats a crazy improvement for one quick wipe over!

Finished rear looked like:

A bit patchy where the peanut butter pot got a little empty and i switched to using my fingers instead of an old duster to spread it on, but the difference is immense.

So there you have it, it really does work well! Just one question though for Ade, how the hell did you find this out? lol

Lmfao @ NBC thats proper funny lol

Looks miles better and iirc tis an age old valeters trick that one, i also know of a certian lad on here who now resides in scarbro who used old motor oil to black some bumpers and trim on a corsa SRi:thumb:

so you apply it with a cloth of some kind, or a rag and wipe it in?? because i want thinking you put it on and wipe it away

Yeah just rub it in, its the oil in it that restores the colour:thumb:

I found a cloth of some sort worked better, I used my fingers when I couldn't get into the jar any more, and it's rather patchy on those bits... to get it off I pointed a hose at it for a while lol

Not too bad really to say I was absolutley blasted. I got up the next day to have a look at my fine workmanship and to my horror I'd done my neighbours lol

Don't mustard your bumpers and then wipe your eyes it stings like hell :thumb:

lol lol lol

I found it out after watching "wrecks to riches UK" with Dominic Baldy and VBH. Just use any old rag and samooth peanut butter. The oils in the butter desolve the traffic dirt and lift it off the plastic. The more you rub the more comes off. Change cloths regularly though. You'll also find that peanut butter will remove oil and other dirt from your hands...

also works as some kind of crazy face scrub I found, after realising my hands were baby soft smooth. However I don't think i'll be using it on a regular basis, because it smells funky and some people do have nut allergies and I wouldn't want to kill someone by walking within 100m of them in the high street lol
