quick one for the gurus

14nv nova sr engine will the cam be slot or pin drive?
12st 1.2 g plate carb engine with black cap dizzy will this distributor fit an sr engine and if so will an sr engine run ok on the 1.2 ignition set up as i know the 1.4sr originaly had some fancy electronic ignition or something cheers in advance

Cam is pin drive.

1.2 stuff is slot.

the later engine would run quite well with the earlier cam & distributor fitted, you could just swap the whole cam carrier across.

Would this be beneficial then to swap over a 1.2 cam box and dizzy set up to a 1.4?

13SB had same dizzy set-up as the 12ST too.

I wouldn't say it'd be beneficial Spudders, as the 1.4 cam has more lift tha the 1.2 or 1.3 version.

Billy bonus if you have a piper or kent cam though, they normally have both types of dizzy drive cut into the end!

well it'll run but it'll be down on power, and probably over-fueling.

ok guys i have fitted the 1200 cam and seems to run a treat
as for power doesent seam that bad at all but its not been fitted because i was after more power

its been fitted because after the 1.2 went bang i needed an engine fast. The sr was the easyiest to get hold of at the time

i dont want to spend too much on it at the minute as im so close to getting the nova turbo back on the road after one of my pistons decided it wanted out that i can almost smell it

once the turbos done im gonna make a start on this one properly and the cam will be changed again anyway
