fit it get it checked over buy a garage and get them to write a letter to say they are happy with the conversion then send that with the log book with the engine size changed and let dvla do the rest.
Hope that helps.

Wouldnt even need to do that unless the DVLA asks.

"that" refers to the check by a garage I would imagine.

You insure the change of engine as soon as its in the car. Then alter the engine size in your V5 and send it off. They may send your updated v5 with no queries. If they ask for an engineers report, just take it to a garage and ask them to write a letter on a headed piece of paper explaining its in a safe and roadworthy condition. As said it all depends on DVLA-some have sent off v5 changes from 1l-2 litre xe with no problems, whereas i had to get an engineers report for a 1l-13 SR
