What a day ! Started a 6am to catch the ferry from Larne to Cairnryan, to lift my new car, a 1989 Nova Star with 42k, 2 owners and even came with a couple of new GM panels! Arrive at Cairnryan to meet probably the best ever seller you will ever meet, he'd drove the car about 150 miles to meet me, straight back onto the ferry again and back home for 1pm in a great nova ! Then straight home to collect my SR which I bought of Ernie. In all a perfect day :) and well pleased with the buys!

Too clean ! It's too good to SR it, so I have a 1 Litre on it's way home with 30k and it might get the SR treatment. Didn't buy it out of the trader but could have been in it? The last ower had a spare "spare wheel" to save the unused original wheel ! Correct original carpet mats, one key does all and drives like new, can't wait to fit these: :D

awsomely clean car, and a mk1 too:p the wheels should suit the car sweetly imo,just needs a nice 60mm lowering kit now and possibly a nice 3" tail back box,THEN LEAVE IT AS IT IS.:thumb:

Is it hell too good...

Its a boring 1.2 Star, do the right thing and save the SR into it!

Was either of Keiths too good? They look far better for it IMO.

Why are the Northern Irish/Irish so mad about older cars? My Dad, brother are all nuts about them,my mate even drove 60 milesjust to see the Star today?

I have circa 20 cars and the newest is 10yrs old, the oldest 20. Any plans to buy any newer? NO.

My daily driver is 14 years old,TDi Audi 80,if Itook all my gears and cars,sold them I'd be worth a small fortune! About two years ago Itook a fit andbought a brand new Type R Civic, it wasa nice carbut never got the same buzz from it as a old skool machine, though I like the S2000.

Its the feel and the buzz you get from older Cars, the newer ones are built better, feel more comfortable etc so you dont get the Atmosphere.

Anyway, enough Sh1te talk from me, BEST of luck with the new motor and wheels mate. Great finds.

a truly clean shell you got there.

i also think the sr should be shelled into this as its only a star at the end of the day

The merit + is gone but the roll of honur at present is

92 Nova life 28K
90 Nova 1L 30k
88 Nova Star 42k
86 1.3 SR 63k
86/7 Nova Antibes (breaker)

The cost of sending it back to the mainland would make it too expensive, though I' kind of temped to fit the SR interior into the Star for the summer?
