Story is, had her sitting in a shed for 4 months now. Last time I had her running she ran out of fuel. Since then i never tried starting her. Put 10 litres in tonight and she wont fire up. The fuel pump isn't pumping when i switch the ignition on. Took the fuel pump of,tested it and it is working fine. Is there a wiring fault or relay need replacing. She hasnt moved and inch in 4 months!
If anyone could shine light on this would be great!

sounds daft, but have you removed any fuses? is the battery fully charged?

No, im not that thick lol. Had jump pack on her and checked all fuses. Have done all checks before even removing the pump. Seems like a wiring fault or relay knackered.
Does the relay click? Cant remember where it is on the 1.6's but i think the blukhead in engine bay?

Yea found the relay on the firewall and it clicks when ignition is switched on. Out of the dozens of attempts the pump did work once.

lol i didnt mean it like that haha! maybe some damp has got to relay or pump connections then, have good look at the terminals for signs of corrosion maybe? i cant remember where the pump relay is tbh! under dash tray or bulk head?

Thanks guys
Get a tester onto the wiring for the fuel pump.
Apart from that the only thing i can think of is just putting it back together and making sure the pump isnt working. Could be a break in the wire somwhere or somthing.
Could be anything lol

Could be anything lolid be tempted to get a spare battery, some wire and some croc clips. then hook up the pump to the battery to the pump direct and try starting it. if it runs then you know its a problem with power to the pump

Thanks for advice guys. Took fuel pump relay out and put it in a bit of heat for 5 mins, plugged it in and she started up no problem. Need to get her out of the cold shed back into the garage. thanks again.

Give the relay a 'smack' with a screwdriver handle, or something other than a hammer. Usually shocks them back into life.
