View Full Version : immobiliser to coil wire
I had a toad alarm fitted to my car when i had the 1.2 engine but now ive installed the 1.6 it has a different coil so i was wondering which wire i need to connect my immobiliser to? You can see where the wire went on the 1.2 engine, top black one-

Thanks in advance
with the new engine your better of putting the imobliser on the fuel pump.
I dont know what wire it is on that coil, should be whichever comes off the nova loom, (surly theres only 3 wires still?)
well will it still work the same as its an automatic immobiliser and i didnt install it so dont really have a clue how it works, it is a four pin connection to the coil so i presumed it was just a matter of tapping into the correct wire?
It should have 2 wires? the orignal wire would have been cut and the imobliser wires added to each side.
If so its the same thing for putting it on the fuel pump.
The only reason i say is that then it wont flood the engine/waste your fuel etc.
the only wire that was added to the coil was that im pretty sure of it. Its a cat 1 toad ai606 alarm and immob.

That alarm indeed breaks 2 circuits by means of 2 internal relays. As AW06 says the immobiliser is intended to just interupt an original wire / signal. You may only see one side of the interuption but somewhere will be the other connection, it maybe behind the dash etc. Looking at the wiring diagrams it looks like (on a 1991 model) the coils have the same number and colour wires, so its just a case of like for like. Black is terminal 15 on the coil.
