View Full Version : Removing glue from tinted windows
Took the tints off and have been left with the glue stuck to the windows. Ive been trying to get it off but its a pain in the ass, ive tried hot water and soap and also white spirit but its not working too well.Has anyone done this and what's the best way to do it without scratching or damaging the glass?
thanks

At work when we've been taking stickers off we use an Autsmart product called Gelsol, or something like that, does the job ok. Have you tried brake cleaner?

Methylated spirit should do the trick. It was able to remove the glue left over from removing the door vinyl. Maybe a blast of heat gun plus spirit may do the trick quicker :thumb:
Ok I'll try the thinners, might have some in the garage.
Heat with a hot air gun (to soften the glue) then use meths. Just a) make sure you do it in a well ventilated area and b) apply meths AFTER using the hot air gun. Fumes FTL lol
I had the same problem on mine, nothing worked as well as the above. Although I didn't try petrol.
Stanley blade and some 'sticky stuff remover' Just done a mates last weekend.
i used t-cut on mine, but did mates there other week with petrol but thinners or white spirits does the job,but use some glass cleaner afterwoods tho,oh and odnt forget elbow grease aswell lol
