Your going to be paying alot mate ! simply for the fact that it is such a risk for the insurance company to insure you on such a vehicle. Also not meaning to be funny but are you genuinley in need of a 2.0 16v Turbo/ will you have enough experience to drive one at that age ? perhaps you'd be better off waiting a while and doing a 1.6 16v transplant or similar instead ?

i put at 2ltr in my nova at 19, paid £1200 tpf&t. Not cheap but then its a quick car for what it is! just make sure the engine came out of a cavalier gsi ;)

Dont be soooo stupid. a cavi gsi is a stunning car and we need to keep them on the road. Get one from a cali lol

i agree bigs cavaliers sholdnt be used as donar cars! actually dont agree with astra gte being used either. Mk3 gsi or calibras only :)

But yes, the engine came out of a cavalier if anyone like the insruance ask ;)

Oh right didnt know that. i would of thought it was a cavi sri that would of been cheeper  .

So tell me this "if you know" Ive just sent the logbook off to change the engine size to 2.0. But i bought a astra gte for the engine and kept the logbook. Now i put the engine code on the log book. So with this can they tell what car it came from or can i still say it came from a cavi gsi?

Nope. One of my ex's parents had a Cav GLS with an XE in, thats group 10

Oddly enough the GSi is a group 13, whilst the SRi is a group 14...
