Hi all
I have a E16SE engine. I did not get the loom for it so bought one off of here but the ECU connector and the distributer connector were different!
I have a siemens ECU. I saw a C16SE loom on ebay and have asked the guy what size the connector for the ECU is and it is also the wrong size!
Can anyone help in what loom i need?

Should be C16SE for Siemens management, are you definite the ecu is for this engine?

no not for sure as the guy has turned out to be abit of a plank! The air flow meter i have is a smaller plug than the ECU if that helps!!

Think I'd be trusting the randomer on ebay over a plank lol Get a pic of the ECU up, someone might recognise it?

These are a few pics of my ECU. In the 1st pic the larger connector is the ECU and the smaller one is the connector that is on the loom for the E16SE engine.

if you have a e16se efi engine and loom you need a bosch ecu mate

but also the connector for the dizzy is also wrong!

did the afm connect ok? have you got a pic of the dizzy connector?

the afm connected fine. i had to buy this from some one else tho. no dont have a pic on the comp. wil get one tmorrow

oh right hmm? of the top of my head, there may be two types of dizzy then, i have an old one somewere with the orange dizzy cap, and thats got a three pin connecter on it iirc, give me half an hour or so i think i know where it is, i will get you a pic

well i found my old dizzy, its of an early e16se, its a bosch dizzy, and it is a three pin thing. here is the connection

cheers for that i will get mine off and compair tomorrow! Can i just change the dizzy and the ecu to get it all working?

the ecu you have is wrong imo, you do need the bosch type one with the efi... i cant find any info about the dizzy atm, the only thing i can think of is the dizzy you have with your engine has been changed at some point? hence the confusion! have look tomorrow and see if it looks like the one in the pic! and take a good look at the connector wires for the dizzy on the loom to see if they have been chopped and changed ect :thumb:

Been thinkin it might just be easier to change the Ecu. I don't remember seeing the loom cut but I will have a good look at it tomorrow. Will take pictures of both connectors to compare!

yes get the bosch ecu mate :thumb: imho the one you have will never work with e16se!

the ecu is for a 1.8 msts carbed engine. thats why it doesnt fit. pm burgo iirc he had a full setup

yes, must be a later version e16se! has it got a black dizzy cap and a smoth rocker cover? i dont need this dizzy now, pm me if you need one, we can sort something out :thumb: should swop over no problem i think, i looked hi and low for my ecu, no joy though :(
