Rear beam handbrake cable mounts...

I have converted my rear beam to run discs. I used an Astra GTE 16v beam and butchered all parts needed.

I have noticed the handbrake cable mounts are fouling the rear of the beam mount (as pictured) Are they in the wrong place?

I had exactly the same problem, so i cut them back off and ran a nova long cable and mk2 cavalier (estate) short cable. Doesnt look like you have this option on your beam as you have cut off the mounting points

I can always make up new ones. Just wanted to know what my options were. May do as you say (Cav estate short cable) are these still available form Vauxhall??

Vauxhall sell h/brake cable mounting brackets for the mk3 Astra beam. Sure you could bolt/rivet them on....

The mounts he has on the beam are for the astra gsi cable. If he wants to change to a cav one he needs to put nova guides back on.

Ah this fun again, my beam still has the nova guilds on it, so i run the nova long cable and cav estate short bit, but am having the prob of getting the hand brake tighened up nice at the mo.

lol fun fun fun. The mounts are from the GTE beam that i butchered. I still have the Nova guides...kept them just in case! So, purchase the Cav cable as linked on page 1, and re weld the Nova guides to my beam and i'm sorted?? Ish lol
