when being driven fairly hard on a hot summers day like today with the rad fan on all the time mine runs at about three quaters (standard gsi clocks)what does every one else's run at im thinking it might be running quite hot engine spec is: lighten balanced bottom end, polished ported gas flowed big valve head, frank anderson cams, vernier pullies, twin 48 carbs,h+h dizzy, etc etc producing 235bhp .

seems a tad hot to mei thought that, when driving normally it sits at half way but as soon as you gun it the temp rises to a tad under three quaters.standard thermo's are 92 degrees i think.

aye i would be fitting a cool running stat you wouldnt want to cook a engine with that spec

I assume the carbs are fully setup etc?
Might be running a bit lean or something making it heat up when you nail it

You should never need the rad fan on permanently when your driving....

It has been set up and should be fine,if anything a tad rich the rad was brand new when i started building it 2 years ago . i might go for a cool running stat but im not sure thats its going to do the trick i have a spare one here i might try taking the middle out? to see if it brings the temp down failing that i might have to go for a bigger alloy rad i think. the bonnet has been raised at the back and vented to aid cooling also has holes in the bumper to futher aid the cooling . As pictured \/ so should run fairly cool you would think. http://i702.photobucket.com/albums/ww30/novaxe235/novasunnypics001-1.jpg
