hi all, right the misses has a 1.2 spi engine in a corsa b, i have a spare 1.4 mpi loom, ecu, head and inlet.

so could i fit them to a 1.2 bottom end?

would it work?

i know i have to change the fuel pump!!

or should i just get a 1.4 bottom end?:thumb:

I'd get the correct 1.4 bottom end, it'll be cheaper than trying to sort the fuelling out on the 1.2 bottom end.

what would i have to do with the fueling?

a 1400 runs about 30 hp more than the 1200. thus it uses more fuel, if you just stuck the 1400 gear on a 1200, it would run much richer

Yes, buy suitable management for the 1400 system and get it mapped on a rolling road. Total cost circa £1000, or fit the right 1400 bottom end, cost circa £50-100.

i woulda thought you'd need to get the head skimmed quite a bit to bring the compression ratio back, so yeh best off with the 1.4 block.
they run around 85 bhp ? i cant remember... be a nice upgrade tho.

just run a x16xe bottom end and make a hybrid stronger 1600 8v engine. then use all your mpi bits...
