difference between gte and gsi tank

hi lads,

just woudering if there is any difference between a mk1 gte petrol tank and a mk2 gsi tank?

i reckon it would be a straight swap but if anyone can put any light on the subject it would be great.

the later gsi ones could have an internal pump, but the early gsi & all the gte ones have an external pump & the fuel feed pipe is actually on the tank sender assembly that screws into the back of the tank

All sri/gsi/gte's have the same tank with an external pump

thanks lads, my gsi is j reg early 91 and the fuel pump is on the back drivers side. so it looks like its a straight swop then.
