I posted a thread like this a while ago.

I've kept accurate financial records since mid-2006, and I think in that time I've spent ITRO £15k on the Celica which covers everything - fuel, insurance, maintenance, mods, tax; however that does NOT include the first 18 months of ownership where I probably spent another ~£8k on it.

Worth every penny though :D

well, I bought an a reg one for £500 in about 1993... spent about 100 on wheels & interior (brown sr).
got offered a rolled gte for £250
sold the interior & bumpers for £350
used all of the other bits on the a reg.
sold the rolled gte shell on for £40.
ran the a reg for 10 years.
bought a d reg 1.2 for £75 & stripped it for bits, made £150 profit
sold my original a reg engine for £70
bought my g reg in 2000 for £700
been using the bits from my a reg to mod it slowly...
my ebay & png trading over the last couple of years had been breaking even, so......

apart from service items, tyres & brakes, my nova habit has since 1993 to date, 16 years cost me £1010........

The main thing it's all been done with wages, over many years. so if I wasnt spending on a Nova i'd only have spent it elsewhere.

Can anyone honestly say if they didnt spend 20k on their nova that their bank balance would show 20k+? I doubt it :thumb:

I have a Box file full of receipts for the nova spanning over about 11 years and if added up would be quite a lot. I added it up about about 5 years ago and i'd spent over 20k.. and that was before the last rebuild.

But then in the receipts would be several sets of suspension, a couple of engines, a few gearboxes, differents brakes and stuff like that that would of been sold on.

But then I was living at home with the folks, doing lots of overtime and on call.. oh those were the days!!

Mines not too bad as ive often swapped parts and bought my donor car cheap giving me my engine for free.

Probly comes in about 1.5 to 2k
(not inc consumables like tyres and servicing parts as they need buying what ever the car!)
