anyone made some small boxes to house 5.25" / 13cm speakers before ?
interested to hear some feedback on the results.
was thinking possibly a pair of these pioneers, each in there own box, with or without bass ports im not sure, or maybe even 2 speakers to a box.

i did!!! to go under the seats, on the early seats, as the sliding sub frames they wont fit.
but i couldnt really hear them there. so i took them out lol
Taf, this is what i done with your old speakers for a while. As long as the box is closed in and sealed nicly it will give a decent sound. Play around with the settings on your HU and it will be kool.

Just build some decent door pods, then you can aim the speakers up towards the middle of the car too.

^ trying to get some decent bass out of them.
what are you trying to do?
^ im gonna stash them behind the front seats pointing upwards, most probably with some sort of external speaker wire attachment like house speakers so i can pull them in and out easily for passengers / luggage.
i would just slap some 6 x 9's in the rear shelf, but i dont wanna attract the attention from thieves and joyriders. thought this idea would be a good substitute. speakers in the front dash are shocking, and ive tried putting speakers in the door cards before with bad results, they loose alot of sound externally as theres drain holes in the bottom of the doors, plus they need deadening or u tend to get bad vibrations.
done a good job on those pods there mikey

imo you would be best off changing the dash speakers. and i had those pioneers in my nova, not very good if youre looking for bass tbh but good for all around listening
