Theyare off a 2000-2001 model. All seat garages will now what one you want if you tell that what it is for.

I went to the SEAT garage near me and asked for one, I didn't specify a year. Saying that, the newer ones tend to be more rigid than older ones, so when it comes to fitting the newer one you might need some help with it.

I paid just over ?30 inc vat or my splitter. They have put the price up, but personnaly I think there still worth it. Especially the newer ones being more rigid and hopefully longer lasting. If there fitted well, they should stay on for some time.

If only they were still ?18 quid. At least it stop everybody in the world having them on there NOVAs when they are at ?30ish.

Still there are worth ?30 cos it finishes the front nicely

I've just put an ibiza splitter on my car on Saturday, well dodge going over speed bumps and even cornering too fast now. Anyone else had a problem with this? My car isn't even lowered and when I go round some corners at speed with the sound down you can hear the splitter just touch the road!!

But it has slowed me down a bit i suppose. And looks really good.....

what bumper is the splitter on?

Could be a similar problem to my rear suspension, it sits really low on standard springs and shocks, so low that you can't see the tops of the tyres.

The shockers are fine, I've jumped in and out of the boot and that car behaved well. It doesn't look broke and it doesn't look like I'm gonna fix it.

I'm hoping this isnt the problem!!!!!!! I'm taking the car to a local garage soon to get my big bore 2 fitted, so will get them to check it out, but i think I might not have put on a Seat Ibiza splitter and something a bit thicker. It's definatly made by Seat cos it says that on the back but im not sure if it is from an Ibiza, its about 3/4 inches thick, does this sound right to you :?: :?

I fitted it onto the very bottom of a mk 2 standard bumper, think thats ok??

ive got one on, meshed it too, looks wicked, sepcialy with grill meshed. sits about 1.5 inches off ground, doesnt seem to scrape much either when driving, does on ramps and speed bumps, my splitter cost me a set of old spark plugs

I've put my splitter on upside down, alot easier and i think it looks better.
it was piddle to mesh. get a stanly knife, it cuts through the splitter like butter, ok not butter but it's it easier then a saw or anything, then i put screws in to hook the mesh over so it dont come off, ive found that using wire and small holes in the spliter holds it on good too!

:D That looks quality, it does go well with the meshed grill!! Shame I didn't know it was that easy before putting the splitter on last weekend, would have meshed it. Damn this means I've gotta take off the bumper again, bitch of a job, last time I sheared one of the bolts and had 2 drill it out which made the job much longer.

Have you lowered your car? If you have, how low did you drop it? I think I read somewhere that if you go drop it more than 30mil you will get problems with the Ibiza splitter and the floor :x

Thanks for putting up the pic!

when i put the splitter on i then desided to mesh it, ive screwed it on with about 10 screws all along, took em out again and then meshed it, depends if u wanna take it off again.

I've lowered my car -60mm and it scraps on all speed bumps and ramps, it's not 100% ridgid so when it does scrap is just bends and flexes, so no harm done. as the mesh in on with wire and that means it wont come off, might come loose but easy to fix. it looks wicked when parked up coz its about 1.5inches off ground. depends how u want it to look.

I put my splitter on the right way up. It is about 3inches deep. I have a -60mm drop at the front, but the susspension is uprated and alot firmer than standard susspension. I also have 16" wheels, which will give you more clearance than 15" wheels. I don't have a problem with body roll and the Splitter catching. I've only caught the splitter once, and that was on a dodgy concave speed dip :|

The splitter is attached with about 20 5mm nuts and bolts. That might sound extreme, but theres no chance of the splitter coming off or flexing, LOL.

As I said, it was a bit of a b***h to fit, as the newer splitters from SEAT are alot more ridgid than the old ones, so bending it round the contour of the GSi bumper proved tricky, but we managed it in the end. I wanted to follow the shape of the bumper as closely as possible, as I've seen some splitters that cut the corner because of the shape of the splitter.

Take a look and see what you think. I've not meshed mine, but I don't think i need to as it goes well with the colour of my car as it is.
