Would it be wrong to weld up the rear axle in places like where the plates meet? I was thinking it would reduce flex like an ARB. Has anyone done this? Would it make the handling worse?

Plates? What plates? IMO i would say no, as you want some flex.

It certainly wont make it worse
Stitch weld if you are going to do it.Ive only ever thought of around where the spring sits really

Plates as in where the hub is welded onto, there are two sections the top and bottom, they're spot welded already. I thought the beam in the middle is where it flexes the most?

the beam twists along its length therefore welding each end wont do anything imo

Thats what i thought. So it won't effect handling in any way?

nope. you shouldnt have a problem with the back end tho unless its bent. every video ive ever seen where they are being driven properly its always the front end hat struggles for grip
