spi to mpi

hi all, does any one know how to change a spi engine to a mpi one?

whats involved?

There's no point really. If you take a 1.4 for example, the head ports are crap on the spi but good on the mpi. So even if you swapped everything voer you still wouldn't end up with all of the benefits. Better off sourcing a decent mpi engine and dropping it straight in.

You dont say what engine anyways...... I surpose if you wanted you could change the whole top end of the engine, but only really worth it if you know the bottom end is good or has been modded (doubt it on a spi tho lol) or you wanted to do the HG for some reason.

But like already said, depending on the engine it might be easyer to find a complete engine.

gotto remember the spi engine i dont think will have the mountings for the crank sensor so you will ave to change the oil pump aswell
