View Full Version : Gtf!
Right me and a few mates last year decided we were goin to go on a road trip gumball style but in sh*t cars. It never happened. lol
We are all up for it this year at the end of July.
Starting off small-ish to see if we can do it.
Its called GTF, 'GET TO FRANCE.'
Manchester to Paris, no winners you just have to make it there. not the most original idea but you have to do stupid stuff while your still young.
My question is, I need a car for £300 max with MOT and some tax. Not buying at the moment just want your suggestions? If you have a car you would sell let me know.
Cheers :thumb:
Of course it will make it lol. I've been to ghey Paris and back all the way from Sunderland in a £200 Astra TD.
Get a 50 quid sh1tter to make things more interesting man!
get a free car and put an MOT on it for less than 50quid
get a free car and put an MOT on it for less than 50quid
I would rather get one ready MOT'd so there is no nasty surprises when it goes for one lol

do 'a clarkson' and get the fastest car you can for the money, even better if it has a turbo, then wind the boost up, that should make things more fun lol

^^ the best idea so far!
just remember to get fully comprehensive breakdown cover! the type that will ship your car back and cover your travel home if you break down!
(then hit a rock on the way back, damage the sump then fubar the engine = free travel home!!! lol)

to be honest id be tempted to drive to paris, find the busiest road i could, randomly stop in the middle of it, get out and leave it there.
hitch a ride back with someone else lol
lol Was thinkin of burning it out under the arc de triomphe. lol

hahaha yes thatd be quality!
Dont fancy going to a French prison :(
BMW 5 Series. These are uber big, uber reliable as long as they havent been thrashed throughout their life and uber cheap. Look for an E34 (88-96) and go for a 520 or 525i as anything else is hard to run and tends to have been thrashed and Beemers dont like being thrashed.

Same here mate, Cavalier 2.0 GLi or something along the lines. Probably get one for under 300 quid, comfortable, performance aint bad and can carry loadsa stuff. That or an old skool Merc or Beemer.
i did a 1600mile blast round france in 95 in a £200 1.6 maestro, and only had to put fuel in it......
ive done the nurburg from hull in a £120 metro gti, fast and fun...
