dual to single washer pump

well.. not so much single, im ditching the rear pump and using a single pump slotted washer bottle for the front washers only.
thing is... when the rear pump wirings disconnected, the fronts wont work either, am i right in thinking they share the same earth, as to why they wont work ? i havent stripped the loom back yet, wanted to ask first.

sorted this now. just as well no one said anything as some wally had re-wired it at some point, and sent the looping earth thru the front washers first ! so when the rear pump was disconnected it cut the whole circuit.
job done tho... "izz z'good yaa"

bridged a screwdriver on the back of the clock and popped a fuse too - hah
