Fiar play, but anyone that cuts up a Cosworth to use it in a Nova conversion really needs to have there head examined IMHO.

EDIT: The silver Escos a runner or is it that supplying a donor engine?

it was a standard siera shell do u think id really cut up a genuine cosworth shell?

the engine was built from a 200 block a freind had he wasnt useing what silver Ecos u on about??

didn't think i'd see another one like this mate..
you seem to have the floor to far forward.. you have cut the front of the nova off so now you have not got exact point where the sierra needs to go, you will need to measure all parts side to side and diagonally as well as straight front to rear.. i did the floor in colins 4x4 nova i've done escorts, clio v6, proton, now 206.. all wheels lined up correctly just measure and measure again to make sure... good luck..

Ah thats alright then. C7 cut up a Sierra Cos for his, wasnt pleased at that really lol

The Silver Escos in the back ground of some of your pics is what I was reffering to.

Whats the engine spec anyway? 200 block on greens or something simple like that? None of this RS500 WRC inlet melarky or is uber power the ultimate goal?

well i really didnt want to cut the front of but i bit the bullet and cut it of as it was in the way but i still have the part complet so will just go back on wen i have the front in possition so will be able to line that all up again hopefully.
and the front has still got to go back quite a bit nothing is fixed yet still lineing everything up into a rough possition b4 i start to fix it in i am following colins quite closely :)

um its a 200 block big valve head, cat cams, standard inlet and outlet will run on after market management, compresion ratio has been changed to give less lag um thats about ll i know really but hopeing for 400+ with a small amount of bosst :thumb:

You said earlier you were going for 450 bhp. you really will struggle to get that with a standard port head and standard inlet setup tbh

Can i ask one thing, why not just mount an xe to run the rears like austin did, surey be a lot easier...?

You said earlier you were going for 450 bhp. you really will struggle to get that with a standard port head and standard inlet setup tbh

well im only going by wat i was told by the guy who built it, i was told you could run up to 500 on a standard 4x4 inlet?? may b completly wrong:confused:

lol i know Austin and his car really well as he lives round the corner from me tbh i thing his car was allot more work involved than what im doing and i think if i was just going to run rear wheel drive id still build it the same way im doing it now as rather than space frameing the front end.

the main reason i have chosen a cossie 4x4 set up is i want big power and 4wd to get the power to the ground and feel if you ran silly power threw the rear im not sure you would get it to go in a strait line, at the end of the day i still have the option to change it to rear wheel drive if i get bored

Can you make it non wide arched?

it is possible to cut the wishbones etc in half and shorten them but that is allot of work and puts the geometry out and struts at funy angles etc plus i think it will handle better being wider

well today after playing around with the fez putting bigger brakes on and removeing an rst block ready for a zeetec with Mossy i decided to crack on with the exhaust
so hears the full stainless system taken from an escort cosworth which is roughly 10" to long so cut and welded the joining bracked back on and should do the job :)

Looks nearly there mate, looks like a right animal.
What are you going to do about the front wheels sticking out the arches, what about running the mondeo 16" wheels which are similar style, to overcome this problem?

trossnova
04-08-11, 07:35 PM
might see if i can machine them down to change the offset or i will just make the arche wider as i will be repainting it anyways wen its all running
