Just guaging interest here to see what folks think on this!
My m8 that runs Trix in dunfermline has been very much into vauxhall's and vw's for most of his days doing all maner of conversions and trick bits.
The big thing in the vw camp just now is fitting wheels from other manufacturers to there project motors.
Dougie currently runs a mk3 vr6 with Lambo rims.
He done this by re-drilling and tapping his hubs and discs etc. to the spec of the wheel. He is currently now supplying other vw owners with such conversions for what is quite good valvue for money depending on their requirements.
At present he can do 5*100, 5*110, 5*112 and 5*114 with more to follow!

We are thinking about trying it out on a Nova set up by doing the discs's, hubs and rear drums or discs.

Is this something that people would possibly be interested in in the future once we have a set tried and tested?

Ultimately it can allow you to run different wheel set ups which could be quite trick :thumb:

Good luck finding other makes i.e vw etc with the right offset and width, most vw wheels are Et 35 and 6J wide so no hope what so ever of fitting under the rear arches.

Surely drilling and tapping hubs/discs is something that anyone (with the right knowledge and tools) can do?

Also offsets will be an issue...

Yes but will anyone actually try it?????????

Offset wise it is an opportunity to try somthing different, but again it is down to the person wanting to try different wheels to make sure they are able to run them. Its nothing to do with running vw setup on a nova! Its to your specifications!
All in all its just to provide a cheaper alternative to run 5 stud wheels from other models such as vectra's but dare to be different and try something else!!!!!!!

hotrodders have been doing it since the sixties, it is nothing new, the trick is to get the hub centre spigot sleeved/matched
