right after finding sr bits are extinct, and realising i prefer efi, im wondering how hard this is? the options are, c14se efi setup, c16se setup (easier to find) or a e16se setup. any ideas? id prefer coilpack but it depends how easy it is.

East TBH.

Get yourself C14 inlet manifold, fuel rail, ECU & engine loom, diz pack, injection pump etc and fit the lot to the SR. Or just buy an SRi engine complete lol

You will need to swap the tank too, you probably already know that.

Is it a 1.4 sr engine? or 1.3?

1.4 is square port I think, and iirc SRi head is round port. Hmmm

1.4 mate, very low miles engine, hence the reluctance to get rid. the c14s are hard to get here, would a c16 setup work?

I see what you mean! I'm holding onto a good 1300 engine with a funked head, hoping to rebuild some day in future!

I'm not overly clued up, don't take my advice as gospel lol! But a mate is building an engine at the moment for his corsa SRi with a rattly bottom end, and he says the SRi inlet is round port... and I do know 1400 SR head is square.

I sold him a good 1600 carb engine, he is going to fit the full 1400 SRi head/inlet/injection etc to the 1600 bottom end , as he says the SRi inlet won't match the 1.6 square port head!

Sorry for the waffle

you ideally want the C14/16 head too for the round ports and big ass valves

I would be to clued up on CR's but maybe if it was a 1.6 head it might need a skim?

you'd need to measure the CC of the head to work out the CR (see sig link for a maths bypass ;))

look on here, its all about what can go wrong on 2e3 carbs, & it is fitted to tons of vw polos, golfs, sciroccos, even skoda 136 favorits. there must be some in a scrapper near you.

man i read about 50 posts of that huge thread before givving up, m8e went out and bought a £200 carb replacement after all his hassle, everyone said bin the carb and get a weber or replacement. no one mentioned to him he coulda bought a manual choke kit and converted it for £30
