feck **** little scrotes. if its just a screw in jobbie, you should be able to pick one up from halfrauds/local car place, they come with a selection of studs as they can either be 4 or 6 mm (iirc?)

is the stud stuck in the base or will it twist out?

if it twists out, refer to my first post

if its stuck, then i'd suggest heading to a scrappies and getting a base off something else, only a bolt that holds it to the roof

Nah, not if it's a hatch. Just open the boot, pull off the rubber seal and the headlining is stuck round the lip of the metal. The only difficult bit is detaching the little metal rod in the lining without ripping it or breaking a clip etc

The ariel looks very similar to mine. I bought a mk 2 golf jobbie from the local car spares place. The whole lot cost about £7 years ago.
