Then it was back into the bodyshop on sunday morning to get the paint onto the bumpers and see how the colour and finish was going to look:
These are just a couple of pictures to show you the colour that the bumpers and grill will finish up, we used the grill as a test to see how they would come out and i'm well impressed, i think its quite a good match to the original factory blue/grey colour. The rattle cans that we bought also had some funky little adjusters on the nozzle so that you could change the spread of the spray which meant you could alter it depending on what you were painting which made life easy, and also made it easy to cover the bumpers with paint :thumb:
Sorry for the turd i phone camera.

Put a couple more coats of paint on them after this but didnt get chance to take any pictures as i had to leave but i'm well impressed with how they've turned out, cant wait to get them fitted now too. I'll take some pictures and update the thread once i've fitted them.
I also bought these off auzzy2000 to smarten up the front end, because i think with the new bumpers on the amber indicators may look a bit out of place so on these will go when i get them!
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/IMG_0472.jpg
Ive also bought a 4-2-1 ashley exhaust manifold off Lee H, cheers pal, thats already heat wrapped etc, and the runners are quite a lot larger than those on a standard xe manifold, someone has also atempted to port it i think which will aid gas flow, no pics of this though as its in the boot of my car and cant be assed to go take any pics, also bought a gsi servo off rickardo to fit but again no pics!
More updates to follow soon!

Ok then well update time, my mate dropped the bumpers off at my house this eves and lent a quick hand putting the front one and fitting the grill on just to get a couple of pictures of them fitted and check that i do actually like them haha!
Before he came round though i took a bit of time just changing a couple of waterpipes which hadnt fit properly for ages and Lee H cheers dude, managed to dig a couple of the pipes out that i needed so once i had them fitted, after quite an epic coolant spillage i got on to fitting my recently acquired ashley manifold!
A quick picture comparing the ashley manifold to the standard one, the bore on the pipes seems quite a lot larger and were the pipes collect together is also substantially fatter,
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11036.jpg

Personally i love the colour and the finish on them is top notch, big thanks to my mate for painting them for me and advising and doing most of the prep haha! I still need to line it up 100% but just put it on for now to see how it looks, also do people think i need to paint the piece of metal that goes from slam panel to cross member black or something? I think it might just be showing up because the cameras flash is on the car, opinions on that? I havent fitted the back on yet as my f*****g topmounts still havent come from GAZ, but htey have promised they will arrive tommorow so fingers crossed.
I think to get a proper idea on the bumoers i need the car out in daylight up on the road or something to take the whole car in and get a true idea, but for now i'm well happy
Cheers for looking and let me know what you think, good or bad?

They do look better then i thought they would mate, and i would paint the brace black my self, as i hate seeing them through the grill.
All looking good though mate, hope your mounts turn up so you can get the wheels on to see the full effect.
Scott
That's looks really awesome !
Bumpers look really good in that shade of gray.

Looks really well fella, Did you remove the lower valance trim?
As these have a habbit of holding/trapping water, causing the inevitable:(

Cheers for the comments everyone, yeah valance trim was removed matt, the bumper wouldn't go on with this fitted!

Little bit of an update from last night, fitted the back bumper on,after sorting the carriers out which were really rusty on the bumper,no pics though as I need to get the car out to take some of the back, also fitted my gsi brake servo with the help of lee, cheers dude!
Still need to figure out what to do with these f******g topmounts!

Only a little bit of an update tonight,
I've had my battery box for ages and could never be bothered to put the battery in the boot, but then tonight i thought meh i'll crack on with it and its done then!
So got the battery positioned in the box with some foam in there to stop it sliding around:
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11063.jpg
Then take one empty spare wheel well, its no use for anything now anyway as i dont have a spare speedline and a steelie wont fit over my brakes so tyre weld FTW :thumb:
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11064.jpg
and then the battery box bolted down and in position!
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11066.jpg
Started the car up once everything was in place and all was fine, i mounted the distributor block under the scuttle and under the platic cover which hides the heater blower etc so all good! Nice tody and one less job to do!
I bought new bottom ball joints and track rod ends ages ago aswell so thought i would get on with fitting the bottom ball joints, could be a****d doing the track rods, so shiny balljoint,
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11068.jpg
Fitted:
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11069.jpg
Only took a picture of one side as theyre both the same haha so you get the idea!
Also my scuttle cover that Mr Rickardo cut out for me :thumb: Just needed trimming a little bit so i put the edging on it first:
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11067.jpg
Then after much fecking around and trimming little bits here and there i got it too sit quite nicely, so thats being dropped of for powder coating tommorow along with manifold heatshield and also plug cover just to smarten things up a little!
And lastly the obligatory built up arch shot!

Good work again Andy!
Can I recommend having the scuttle cover done in the bobbly black finished paint (can't think of its name). Looks really good. I had a satin one but got the bobbly this time (think it might be called crackle paint?) and really looks factory imo.

Hhhmmm sounds like a good idea Simps,I take it the paint gives it quite an original finish sort of thing??? I'll bear it in mind mate!

This is the best pic I have of mine I'm afraid but you can see its not all shiny and is a little more matt and understated. Because of the textured finish I just think it looks a little more factory.

Little mince update tonight,
I dropped off my plug cover, exhaust manifold heatshield and scuttle cover to be powdercoated the other day, i went and picked them up at dinner today and i'm well happy with the results!
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11072.jpg
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11080.jpg
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11081.jpg
I decided to go for matt black powdercoat in the end as i just wanted the bits too look nice and tidy in the bay and i think that matt black pulls it off quite well!
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11082.jpg

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11086.jpg
I wasnt sure about doing the manifold heatshield aswell but i think that there was a bit too much silver going on with the rocker cover and gearbox and manifold heatshield all being silver but i think it look squite good black and ties in with the scuttle cover and plug cover and other black bits in the bay! I've also got a spare rocker cover that i'll be getting painted at some point as my home done effort is a bit poor as you can see :tard:
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11087.jpg
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11088.jpg
I couldnt trim the scuttle cover anymore so as you shut the bonnet the hinge catches slightly on the edging i have fitted but it will have to do because other wise i would have trimmed right through the scuttle cover and we couldnt be having that!
Thats it for tonight, plans before the end of the week are to trim the front arch lips, seal and then repaint the lip, get the car down on its wheels and try and get the ride height set in time for going having the exhaust fitted on friday, wooooo
Cheers

Looks really good dude, thing with scuttle covers is NO TWO nova's are the same! lol and if it was made from a template off another one it will always be different, as i found out when Ive made them, though most did fit quite well, also i made my covers so they lapped under the wings, but they weren't metal.

Cheers Scott, yeah I know I tried a template of one that you actually made dude that graeme dixon kindly let me try but it was a way off, like you said no two are the same,so I used lee h's template (cheers bud) and that was quite a good fit! Vauxhall build tolerances haha!

Not sure on the pure black plug cover - Looks very bland
Would be smart with silver or polished letters
All looks really smart.
Where can/did you get the scuttle cover from ?
andy_017
26-01-10, 08:41 PM
Vaughan - I was going to do silver letters but I don't think my skills would let me do that without ruining it so I think it'll just have to stay as is for now ;)
Edd - I used a template off a member from on here and then gave the template to another member off here who cut it out of thin metal sheet with a jigsaw for me dude and then bought the edging off eBay!
vaughanmc
26-01-10, 08:42 PM
Some wet & dry paper on a block ?
ahh right.
do you have a link to the edging from ebay ?
would be a great help.
andy_017
26-01-10, 08:47 PM
The problem being that some of the chrome silver stuff on the letters had started flaking off so I don think I'd get a uniform finish on all the letters so the only way to do it would be too paint and I really don't want to do that!

I wont clutter your thread with pics so here's a link, i did my Opel cover with sand paper then gradually graded it down to wet and dry mate, came out quite OK, BUT make sure you use the grits gradually, not leaving any big scratches in it, oh and it was a sweat and swear word job in summer lol

ok no probs il make one i think.
Use card board mate, just cut it rough to the shape on top of the fire wall, then put it in behind it, mark where it need more off, or on, then make another, and try again, and repeat the process on card till it's right, then use something that suits you to make the final cover.
Scott
how does the scuttle cover mount to the car then ?
do you have to make up some brackets ?
scott.parker
26-01-10, 09:11 PM
Well the one i made just go under the wing edges and hold them self in place via sitting on the lip at the back edge of the fire wall, and sitting on the heater motor cover etc, but mine were made form light weight foamex.
Scott
andy_017
26-01-10, 09:13 PM
The ones rickardo made for me and lee sit the same as Scotts mate apart from they don't go under the wings due to being made out of metal instead of foamex!
is that not going to rattle like a mo fo when driving tho ?
scott.parker
26-01-10, 09:17 PM
Can i just add, i think there really only a show piece, and should not be left in all the time while driving.
EDIT: lol was just wring as you replayed.
andy_017
26-01-10, 09:28 PM
I think lee h has driven his with no problems but as Scott said maybe best as just a show piece as they tidy up the scuttle area and make the bay look so much neater! There's nothing for it to rattle on with the edging on mate!
Me drive my car, that can't be true! It won't rattle as the bonnet hinges rest on it when bonnet is closed.
Andy has just blatantly copied my engine bay theme but I will take it as a compliment mate.

Update time,
Well i said a couple of pages ago that i was going to book a day off work today to get the exhaust done on my car and try and get a couple of other bits and pieces done the same day!
So starting off with last night, had a disaster with the car, the engine had all been plumbed in, all fluids in etc about 3 days ago so i thought meh i'll just check if the car will start, (just in case in the morning it wont), so tried to start it and guess what it wouldnt start! Big thanks to Lee H for being patient with it last night and helping me troubleshoot the car, to have no success but anyway more on that later!
The recovery fella turned up at 8am this morning with the wagon to load the car on, so the car had to be towed up the drive rather than driven as it wouldnt bloody start, so towed up and onto the recovery truck and then onto the exhaust place, after lots of nervous on looking at bumper/floor clearance!
Only got one pic at the exhaust place as the guys doing it were a bit strange to be honest, but anyhoo, up on the ramp,
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11090.jpg
The only pics i have after is of it fitted, on all the magnex exhausts i've seen they always have a stupid little box just after were the gearlever mounts to the car and i would imagine it would make ground clearance low so i got them to remove said box and weld a new piece of stainless in and all was good!
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11107.jpg
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11111.jpg
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11097.jpg
It sits really well IMO and totally finishes off the back end of the car, it seems to be rattling from one of the joins though so i need to crawl under and look into that at some point, job for next week i think! Then a picture of him on the way home
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11098.jpg
All in all quite a good do, it was a long day to be honest as i got messed about a little by some people that i had to rely on etc but i think when you're relying on people in the 'motor trade' so to speak theres always going to be a bit of messing etc but meh all turned out well.
Then onto the problem of it not starting, i got him home with the exhaust a fitted and stuff ad i thought i'll just gove the key a shot at turning, turned it and it started first time, ran it up to temp and got all the air bubbles out of the cooling system etc and all seemed fine, the engines a bit tappy but its not been ran for about 18 months so as soon as its insured and stuff hopefully taking it out for a drive will sort that!
Another update to follow:
That looks really really well, liking it a lot
Even the speedlines look cool! Lol
What did you have done to the exhaust? Modded so it joins to the xe manifold??
Ive got the same system to go on mine.

Another little update,
Since i have had the gte bumpers fitted i havent really had any chance of getting some proper pics of the car with the bumpers on and stuff, but today seen as it was out i thought i would take some,
The car hasnt had a clean for weeks on these pics, so is very dusty and a bit manky

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11105.jpg
Little bit of pic whoring there but i think that i definitly made the right choce for changing the once piece bumpers for the gte jobies, IMO they look cool as fook!
Theres still abpsolutely loads to do on the car, camber and tracking and all that stuff needs sorting as its miles out due to uber lowness, front wings need the lips trimming but i'll sort camber and tracking and stuff first, needs a good clean and polish which i'm going to do properly and take my time with and it also needs interior bits finishing off but i'm putting them off as theyre really fiddly and i cnt be arsed with them yet!
Thats all for now!
Cheers
Andy
THats done it. I need some gte bumpers! lol lol
You need your grab handle and spoiler done in the same colour :)
Looks ace Andy, can't wait to see it

Cheers Adam :thumb:
Yeah the exhaust was bought for a 1.3sr i think, so at the exhaust place they cut the system just after it bends round the transmission thing, then welded a new piece of stainless steel in there with the original flange welded back onto this new piece of stainless steel and then cut and welded a flange onto the manifold as i bought an ashley 4-2-1 so they joined it to that! The box they removed is just after were the exhaust joins the manifold, its only small but my brother runs it on his nova and it smashes off everything because its right behind the front wheels and cant be tucked up into the transmission tunnel because it sits directly below the rod that goes to the gear linkage, stupid design really but oh well! So with that removed it still sounds really nice though, not loud at all just nice and subtle
Yeah for some reason the speedlines dont look that odd even though they are a different grey to the bumpers!

nova_tek: it's an off the shelf full magnex s/s system for a 1.3sr,I don't think you can still buy them new though,I bought mine off a memeber on here who bought it years ago but never used it!
Yeah, Magnex no longer make nova exhausts.

Nova-Tek- Magnex systems are 2" bore, which is what xe's have as standard..

Was just about to say 2" is the least i would use on an XE (standard anyway)
Looks bang on mate, though im not ready to ditch my all in one's on the mk1 yet! lol

Off topic, but when we going to see this saloon mate? do you have a WIP?
I'll start a wip once its painted, still waiting to do the front panel for the 'cooler and then hopefully some progress, as I'm getting very irritated buying parts and seeing no progress myself and the amount of nova parts filling my house is starting to get annoying too

Update on todays and yesterdays mincing,
Ages ago i bought some bottom ball joints and track rod ends, i fitted the bottom ball joints but never got round to fitting the track rod ends, after i had the exhaust fitted on my car and lowered it to were i want it the tracking was way out so i thought it was about time to whip off the old track rods and fit the new ones, counting the number of turns etc when i fit them:
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11112.jpg
Old track rod:

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11115.jpg
New one fitted: (both sides are the same so only took pics of one side:
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11116.jpg
Also received my clear front indicators off auzzy2000 ages ago but never got round to fitting so i chucked them on too:
Old amber ones:
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11120.jpg
New clear ones, i think they tidy up the front loads to be honest:
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11122.jpg
Also while i was outside i thought that i would finish off the interior, putting on the undertrays, tape up all the wiring under the dash and also mount the ecu on the under tray and fit the side board sill things and generally have a good tidy up there as it had 12 mounths of crap on it, sooo the end result is:

I think probably the end of March Riggy to have it tax'd mot'd and insured, i've been shopping around for insurance quotes though and it seems like its going to be a dear do, Flux want £800 comprehensive, Brentacre want £1100 comprehensive, i thought it was going to be a little cheaper than that though :wtf:

but 800 doesnt seem to bad since it would be with no NCB since there on the BMW lol , is that with limited miles etc etc

HIC are a sister company to flux they said so the prices flux gave me will be about the same as HIC's!
Yeah limited mileage of 5000 miles a year, i suppose it could be worse :thumb:

Had a few minutes this morning so i got done some jobs that i had been waiting to do for ages!
First job was something that i've been wanting to sort for ages. My xe has always had a problem with idling when warmed up etc, it used to hunt quite badly and the revs would fluctuate up and down and when you were coasting in gear it would kangaroo backwards and forwards and be really annoying. the breather mod has been done, the icv has been changed, all the breathers had been checked aswell EXCEPT for the one on the front of the rocker cover, i thought it was in ok conidtion but when i stripped my engine to paint the block i realised it looked like this:
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11172.jpg
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11182.jpg
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11174.jpg
Which i'm guessing isnt going to be helping the engine at all, so one trip to vauxhall and £9 later, et voila,
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11179.jpg
Fitted a new pipe, only took about 30 seconds but hopefully should make all the difference! Got a bit gay and fitted some blingy new jubilee clips too :wtf:
Second job of the morning was too fit this:
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11147.jpg
First of all i had it powdercoated to fit in with the whole engine bay theme i've got going on:
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11176.jpg
and then i got on to the fitting of it!Before:
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11168.jpg
After:
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11178.jpg
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11181.jpg
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/SDC11185.jpg
i think it looks quite nice in there and ties in really well with all the other powdercoated bits and pieces i've got in there!
Also managed to get my alarm working the other day :d The wire for the bonnet switch is brown and when i wired the alarm loom into my mk1 i just presumed brwon=earth and earthed the brown wire, soooo the alarm thought the bonnet switch was open all the time and wouldnt arm, now it does wooo! Also wired a 5 wire solenoid into the drivers door so that the alarm operates the central locking, cheers to Lee H for his help n the cold and Mr Rigg for the wire colours!
Lastly just a couple of random pics to finish the update:
Shot of digi dash all working and stuff, a pic i look so up it goes:

Hhhmm steering wheel is personal taste i think, when you sit in the car the wheel is tiny and makes it feel like a little go kart, cant really explain what i mean but when you're in the car driving its great

Little update time:
The car literally hasnt been out of the garage for months and months so the other day as the weather is getting a lot better etc i thought i'll get it out and start getting ready for MOT and going back on the road etc! So dragged the old girl out and she was covered in dust,
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/IMG_0242.jpg
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/IMG_0243.jpg
So the next thing to do was to get the car looking half decent again, it was so full of dust and stuff because i dont like using a car cover on it because it could damage paintwork and scratch the car and it stays in the garage nice and dry anyway so i dont see the need really. Anyhoo rinsed the car off and then set about it with these:
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/IMG_0248.jpg
Around 6 hours and a bit of sunburn later i was left with this:
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/IMG_0262-1.jpg
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/IMG_0264.jpg
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/IMG_0265.jpg

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/IMG_0267-1.jpg
Looking a lot better now after a full rinse and then wash, full AG clay bar, full AG super resin polish and then 1 coat of AG HD wax, took a long time but i think the results speak for themselves and the car is restored to looking nice and shiny again  Further to this i took all the wheels off and gave them the same treatment as the bodywork of the car and they have come up nicely too which is great but didnt get any pictures of these as it was going dark, i'll take some next time the cars out!
Looks lovely
Fleece lined car covers don't scratch the paintwork, just a thought and could save the elbow grease lol

Once i'd sorted out the car being clean it was time to have a look at a few niggling mechanical problems that i had noticed when the car was on the road last year.
One problem was when the car was warm the idle would be very erratic and would move up and down between 700 and 1500 rpm and was very annoying. I had tried everything to solve this, all the usual stuff, ICV changed, CTS, unblocked breathers, carried out the breather mod, allsorts done. One thing i did have left to try was changing the throttle body and seeing if the issue was there, Lee H donated me a throttle body (cheers mate) :thumb: so i whipped off the old throttle body, which was gunked up beyond belief, as was the new one but cleaned that up with some brake cleaner and got it fitted and the idle was still not great, it seemed improved but could just be due to the cleaned up TB and new TB position sensor being fitted. So i then moved on to checking every single breather hose for leaks etc, spent about 3 hours checking them all and eventually found the hose that goes from the ICV to the bottom of the inlet manifold had a slight split in it which was obviously expanding when warm and causing the overfueling and idle issues, changed that and now the car idles like a dream  (didnt take any pics of this as it was darkish in the garage)
Next job was i've always had a slight knocking noise coming from the n/s/f of the car when going over bumps etc, the bottom ball joint and track rods and strut are all new so i've ruled all those out, wereas i have a set of used TAS eccentric topmounts fitted and i dont know how much use they have had before i got them, so did this:
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/IMG_0270-1.jpg
I know this is a pic of the o/s/f but i removed that strut aswell to check the topmount against the other side:
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/IMG_0271-1.jpg
Checked the play in the topmount bearing while it was still attatched to the strut and the bearing does feel to have a lot of play in it which i'm presuming is going to be my knocking noise, the other side did have play in it aswell but could just not have got to the point of knocking yet like the n/s/f bearing. So removed the topmount from the strut and then tapped the bearing out of the topmount to be left with this:
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/IMG_0269-1.jpg
and the offending bearing, which i think will have been in the mount from new and so could be quite old and could have seen some abuse over the years:
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/IMG_0272-1.jpg
Went to a local bearing supplier with the bearing and asked if he could get hold of some, apparently bearings have the measurements stamped on the side of them and so they are easily identifiable, anyhoo he had a nosy around and said we dont list these but let me see if i can get hold of any. I left it with him and he rang me a couple of days later and said we can get hold of SKF bearings which were in the mounts already whcih apparently are really good quality bearings but they'll be £50 for the pair :wtf: or he can get some cheaper ones for £30 for the pair, but i thought i'd better get the SKF seen as they are what came out of the mounts so a few days and £50 later i had these,
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/IMG_0277-1.jpg
All i need to do now is fit them but i'm struggling for time lately, as soon as i can find some time another update of the fitting will follow!!

Not updated this for ages but i'm going to be getting back on with this project.
First of all got the new bearings pressed into the eccentric topmounts at work and refitted them to the car:
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/IMG_0288.jpg
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/IMG_0287-1.jpg
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/IMG_0289.jpg
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/IMG_0290.jpg
Due to a change in personal circumstances my car has got to be moved from its current garage so i've managed to sort a council garage thats really close to my house, really happy with it to be honest because its so close and has got two big heavy duty steel doors on it compared to the usual up and over doors that you get on council garages. So i went over there this morning and did a bit of sweeping and tidying up ready for the car going in there next week:
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c205/andy_017/IMG_0621.jpg
Before, it was a bit tatty inside but i think is been empty for a while:

Ive not updated this for ages but i have an update now so here it is:
The car has been in a garage which was quite far away from my house and so i havent really had chance to use it much but ive managed to sort a garage close to where im living now so i moved the car today but while i was moving it i stopped in at work and took the chance to do a few bits and pieces to the car.
First of all since i built it i havent serviced it so the first thing on the list was an oil and filter change:

Feel a bit happier now thats done, bit of peace and mind!!
Next thing to do was fit the all important PNG membership stickers in the window, only a little thing but i like it!!

Looking much better now all nice and upto date in the window!!
Through endless years of being jacked up on the drive etc and not having a rubber pad on my jack the chassis had took a bit of a beating at the front near the engine bay and as a result some of the rubbery undercoat had come offso i treated the bare metal with some rusteze because we dont want any of the dreaded rust on the car and then coated it with some stonechip to protect it, again just for my piece of mind!!

I had noticed that one of the rear wheels had quite a lot of play in it when rocked side to side on the ramp so took the wheel off and the split pin had broken and come loose from the castlenut and the nut was undoing itself so got that nipped up just in time, didnt get any pics of this though as it was only a quick job!!
Next on the list was a very good clean as i havent washed the old girl in over a year so gave her a minting and here are the results:

Put one of these in for good measure:

Even gave the exhaust a bit of a polish because i was bored:

Thats all really, bit of a boring update to be honest but its an update. It was really good to drive the car today and hopefully now its closer to home as soon as we get the good wether i should be going out for a blast in it more often! Cheers for reading :thumb:
