hi im 16 and just got a nova and just started moddin it, i wonna add some ice to it! i want it to be very loud!!
i dont have a clue bout it ive just got some kenwood 9x9 220 watt speakers and i want to no what head unit to get and waht sub and amps i will need cus i ant got a clue
Also money is short so how much would it be for it to be loud and decent thanks loads for your help.
right, first off you need a head unit. you don't have to go all out, just get something that looks nice and has a reliable brand name i.e. pioneer, clarion, sony etc. necx get some 6x9 for the rear parcel shelf again go for a reliable brand name such as pioneer. or if you want, get a sub wired up with an amp it should soud good depending on what brand you get. anywho good luck!
right then - most head units until you spend big money are all very the same, just a matter of looks and a few features.
Your system will sound better if you spend most of your money on the speakers. I know the head unit is flashy but it's the speakers which make the sound. The Nova is small so bloody great subs will be load but sound crap. Do you want quality? Get a 10" sub and a 400w 4 channel amp.
Run new wires to the front speakers. This is where all your money should go, your ears are directional and will listen to the sound in front of you. This is called the sound stage. 6x9s are for fill and should NOT be amped.
So this is what you need:
Good front speakers, amped by 1 channel each.
6x9s straight from the headunit, if there's a sub in the boot it's not really a good idea to mount these in the shelf. How about mounting them in the Quarter panels next to the rear seats. The rear arch panels would need to be deadened for this to work better.
10" Sub bridged across the other 2 channels on the amp.
Remember everyone will be more impressed if the sound is good rather than the whole thing vibrating every time the base kicks.
