4 years on your licence and an extra year on your insurance so 5 years all in from the date of the offence.

Its ment to be four years on your licence and five for the insurance. But i was lucky. i had six on my licence and caught again by traffic. so went down to pay the money and have them put on and some howthe women wiped the other six off my licence lol So now i have just three :D

you can have them removed after 3 years but you have to pay iirc. 4 years they come off for free. All insurance companys will ask for any claims or convictions in the last 5 years.

Valid for three years from date of offence (as said, can be removed after this for a fee)
Fall off after four years for free
Insurance for five years.

CD40/50/60/70 (careless driving), DD10/20/30 (DUIA), and DR80 (DUID) stay on for eleven years

Note that if you get 6 points in June 2005 then another 6 points in August 2008 these don't count towards totting up as there's more than 3 years between them.

thats all well and good BUT when your imsurance company ask if youve been comvcted of a traffice offence in the last 5yrs you still have to say yes, regardless of wether there on your license or not

above is very true, even though the points will not count they will still want to know and can make your insurance invalid if not stated to them.

ideal my 3points will hit 4years on the 13th of next month. bloody sp60 (over 100 on the a38 lmfao) oops

They remain on the police system ad infinitum, so insurance will know. Plus they can check insurance data and see the date of conviction. Are you sure its not just the three years between convictions rule meaning they don't add up, so you've only got three points (well, 6 and 3)?

If you reapply for a replacement license, or change of details etc, I'm pretty sure any expired points get wiped off the physical license.

Ooooh which means when my photocard is due for renewal in October, my points will be over the 4 year point so come off :D

Should have told them you were in a Civic lol

btw, no such code as SP60... It will be an SP30

I have 2 atm and due to our incredably lax government, I never declared them to my insurance as the cops have never contacted me to hand my licence to have the points stamped onto it so technicially, I have a clean licence.

Anyone know how much it is to have points removed after 3 years then? It sounds pointless - but just out of interest!

IIRC they are vaild for 4. So why pay have them removed after 3 years???? Why pay at all?? After 5 years they mean bugger all to anyone! Have to declare for up to 5 years for insurance purposes.

Yeah, typo on my part. I meant DR10/20/30!

Tink its something like £19. If its just a speeding fine, not worth it as after 4 years it won't add squat to your premium.

5 points SP30 and it costs £30 more on insurance? I never knew you could pay to have points removed?

there is an sp60 its classed as undifined speeding offence, usual ones are sp30 speeding on a public road and sp50 speeding on a motorway/dualcaridge way
