My old man is sat in the front room with all the lights off and the tv with no sound. And everytime i go in he very quickly turn over the channel. as the remote is already in is hand. Who else thinks the sad **** is trying to watch the previews they give you on the porn channels lol

i dont hate my dad. but he has always been distant parents still together etc. but he just lives to work, which is not a bad thing. but he was not around much when i was younger from working. and i still dont see him much. he is building me a shed at the mo so i cant speak. i think we have got closer over the last year or so because of my interest in cars more. and being able to discuss more manly things. but still distant. i wish i could buy an old car and restore it with him.....

see i think that having a step dad would be good because he would be trying to make the effort to "bond" with ya so would be more like a friend so to speak. where as a "real" dad has a fartherly image to stand up to so acts differently. thats something else i dont liek about my parents. even tho im about to turn 21 they wear a different hat for speaking to me and speaking to each other.

you lot take for granted what u may have to learn to live without oneday.
my dad passed away a day after my 12th B'day (11years in april) u know its not the easiest thing. obviousy at a young age its different. but you gotto learn to put things behind u and make the most of things while they are still around.
im pretty sure most of you would have completely different opinions on this matter if you were put into a similar situation.

Yeah Of course I still love my dad and we get on better but I dont think he can face the fact im growing up and am beginning to take less of his bull****! He's so domineering but so am i and i dont think he likes being answered back. I still get the whole 'you may be 20 now but im still your dada how dare you talk to me like that'
One time he invited me to go paintballing and i replied that being shot all day wasnt my idea of fun. His reply 'You know, you just a boring stuck up cow!' WTF just because i dont want to spend a day running around in mud being shot at with rock hard pellets?? Id rather go shopping tbh!

Put it this way would my mum want to leave him if he was good man! No thats why im going in the raf so i can earn a good wage and give a good amount to my mother so she can leave him and not worry about bill and the morgage

Funny you should say that, thats just how i feel. when i was a little boy/baby my dad was a alcoholic and never seen him. I ended up calling my uncle Dad :eek: Probley has alot to do with why i dont see him as a dad just a man i live with
