as long as both surfaces are clean and good use the cork one i did and mine dos'ent leak at all as long as you prep the surfaces properley it wont .most people on here will say use the bonded 8v one though i would expect .:thumb:

Wet wet and dry paper. If you use the 8v one, clean out the bolt holes as they may bottom out on the crud and not tighten up.

You have to use shorter bolts too.
Is the x20xev the same as the 8v one?
i dont know the 8v one, XEV is with the baffle plate stuck in the rubber.
The 8v one is from the c20ne iirc.
In the car? Out the car?
I'd use the 8v/ecotec one for ease and reuseablty.

Do this anyway, run am M6 tap up them, you'll be suprised at the amount of crap old sealant that comes out.
Just use thinners / panel wipe / brake & clutch cleaner on all the surfaces to make sure their clean and dry.
