this makes me wounder about driving me nova.

right just got back,and to be honest im fecking scared,i was following this grey Sr mk1,and she was about 18,doing about 50mph, driving safely,to be honest i couldnt fault her driving,i was in the passager seat of a m8s vetra,just stuck a cd in,then when i looked up i saw a focus come flying out of a t juntion and smack this sr,proper hard,there isnt much left of this sr.............it was so bad the brake drums were bent,wheel studs snap in the drums.there isnt a staight part left onit,even the spoiler was fucked,
there was an old bill following the focus,and he was a gd copper and sorted alot out,
sadly the girl died,according to the doctors,she probley wouldnt of felt a thing,
so to be honest,im pretty fucking scared of drving the nova again,woundering wether it gets turned into a trailer queen.
so its pretty much fucked me in the head,coz this girl,b4 the crash was a good looking,
so im serious considering selling the nova,or scraping it,i dont rly wanna end up like that.
esp after seeing the damage ants car got at 15mph
me need to have a think about my nova.

Seeing that (and i saw it in person when i was there to pick up some bits and it is horrific) doesnt put me off driving my BMW (same year and same accident protection etc. which is regarded as good- side impact bars etc)

As long as i drive safely and carefully- thats all the precautions i can take.

with regards to the bmx. it shows you just how good the safety is, the passenger compartment is in reasonable condition (ie you would ahve survived) and the rest of the car took the punishment.

Hayz? Was this crash on one of the main roads in Milton Keynes? The main roads in MK are 60mph, comparing what happend to ste at 90 mph and then you said the girls car was in far worse condition and yet was only hit at 35mph? At first thought if the girls car was in worse condition then I'd think that the guy must have been doing alot more than 35mph.

At the end of the day, a drunk driver has cost the life of a young person, all this bickering is pointless.

Hayz, I think you might be overacting a little bit saying your not going to drive the Nova anymore. However, we don't know you (as you keep saying) so maybe you have your reasons for not wanting to drive the Nova, but either way a car is a dangerous thing, whether it's a Robin Reliant or a Carlton, you will kill someone if you don't drive responsibly.

One more thing before I go, I while back there was a post saying how fast people have driven and you quoted to say you got within 1mph of the top speed of the Carlton (around 150mph). It's in hindsight now, but imagine the mess you would have made if you had

a) Crashed whilst doing this speed
b) Crashed into another car whilst doing this speed.

If you refuse to drive the Nova again because of how you feel, then if I were you I would seriously think about giving up driving totally. That drunk driver thought he could handle his car...I tell you what, I would rather take my chances having a drunk driver crash into me at 35mph in a Focus than someone doing 150mph in a Carlton.

nutter,i dont dought thats a lotus,i said that cant be the geniue plate,unless its an import etc,the reasonj i know,i was offer a lotus carlton,and i went an d had a word,with the autobarh stormers,and they gave a list of all the genuie plate numbers(when they were new regesterd),so that must of had a private plate on??????then had it removed and the DVLA issued that 1,
but i know for a fact,it wasnt give that plate number when new.

I had a crash on the M1 in my first Nova.... i went into the back of a Tank ( Also known as a mercedes) Now them f*ckers are well made but i had no problems in walking away... just devistated that i wrote off my first car....

So over six months on and i'm driving a 1.4 SR Nova and i think with a bit of welding they can be easily strong enough.... putting a roll cage in so when i decide to rally later in the future....
