As above really . . . What can be done? The only thing its had done is a rebore to 2037cc. And im told a straight through powerflow exhaust system. I'd obviously like to start with the easier ones first (and the cheapest) with me just shelling out 3k for the blumming thinglol

Any ideas anyone?:thumb:

Keep it simple then. Maybe uprate the cams and stick a set of twin 45s on it.

How about throttle bodies?

bodies on megasquirt and some cams. the std ecu and injection and cams are very lame, and economy orientated. see bogg bros for a mani, and id use gsxr 1000 bodies mate tbh. the m/s works with vaux sensors so its easy to do, and map. id say £700 all in tbh, and youll see 160-180 dependant on cams.

Surely mods are similar to XE stuff??

Forget bike bodies imo, get some proper jenveys.

QED do mods for x20xev.
Its quite a tuneable engine, very very similar to a 20xe.....
So the usual exhaust manifold/bodies/cams/headwork will give nice gains

i was told by sbd that the head is good for 220bhp as std. its the injection setup thats the issue. the head flows different to the xe, as its designed for torque not bhp, and has a tighter valve angle aswell. blank the egr if it has it, and try an aftermarket exh mani too bud

The std exhaust manifold is w**k, so changing that is a good mod.

decent exhaust manifold, a nice set of throttle bodies and a pair of cams along with uprated rod bolts and a programmable ecu will see around 195bhp, can squeeze a bit more with high comp pistons/rebore but going that far is gonna cost close to 4 grand all in.

Its already been re-bored mate its had a full re-build, how much are we talking then?

cheap, £1k, dear £4k cheap= you do it all and use m/s and gsxr bodies, dear= sbds catalouge attaches itself to your engine!

I'd be looking for some cams and some throttle bodies. If its been rebuilt recently, seems pointless taking the head off again to have it worked. Maybe do this at a later date? Also, as said, sort the egr valve thingy wotsit.

How is the EGR blocked off, plus what difference does it make?

I'm not very genned up on it TBH. Google?

Simple way = remove top half of valve, trace around the gasket onto a bit of metal sheet, cut out and fit metal blanking plate between two gaskets and both halves of the valve.

you need to keep it plugged in or the ecu light will stay on.
