View Full Version : Best relief from toothache??
Hi since yesterday i have had really bad toothache!(the worst ive ever had it!)i know exactly where it is as i have a hole in my tooth and thats where the pain is coming from!so far i have tried:
1)Ibuprofen(max strength ones)
2)toothache gel from boots
3)rubbing whisky on it
4)swilling my mouth out with salt water
anyone got anymore suggestions?as its starting to **** me off!lol
the option of going to the dentist isnt there yet as me being the knobhead that i am hasnt got one:tard: but i may end up going to the emergency dentist later on!
i had severe toothache a while back and found that heat on the sore area seemed to numb the pain a bit, failing that i found mixing an amount of brandy with some ribena and hot water seemed to numb my whole face, basically get a bit pissed. lol.
Antibiotics will fix that infection pain, then a root canal to stop it forever :D
I found that cold water helped, and saved the being drunk/overdosing on paracetemol etc. I'm not a Doc, but you can take ibuprofen AND paracetemol together (call NHS direct to have that confirmed though)

try bonjela, that stuff they use for coldsores, as its just like numbing cream? maybe that would work!
You could try oil of cloves its in a tiny bottle its for toothache but doesnt taste very nice it can help numb the pain alot though.

i always found that drinking your own urine helps the pain, but if not u suggest a dentist

*runs off to go fetch a glass*
the toothache gel i got from boots is like bonjela and i literally poured it into the hole but it made all my face go numb!(i was dribbling all overlol :( )but it didnt really help get rid of the pain:confused:
i've also got some clove oil here which i will try in abit

best option is the dentist, if they need to give you an injection ask for some of this gel, it helps dull the scratching of the needle =D
Bite a paracetamol on the tooth with a hole in it, this will numb the nerve in the tooth and stop your ache for a couple of hrs ;)
I think the dentist will be the next option if these medicines dont work, hopefully it goes before then.
get it pulled out mate, best thing i ever did, i had tooth ache for a year, and had it puleed out. sorted

Tidymax - Bonjela isnt for coldsores lol its for mouth ulcers
My brother had a tooth pulled out at the dentist the other say and the dentist flucked it up and now he has a massive ulcer on his gum. I think he is using clove oil.
Just make sure you see the dentist asap. My mum had to take a knife off my neighbour because she had toothache. She had had an infected tooth for 3 months and had only just got an appointment. In the meantime she had taken 16 painkillers and drunk alcohol and was planning on cutting out her own tooth!
do you go to the hospital when your engine makes a funny noise????? didn't think so
get it done professionally by a real dentist
Oil of cloves.
Tastes and smells minging but its an anistite(sp?) so it numbs what ever you rub it in too.
Best stuff i've ever used, i used it when i had two teeth hurting so much the only way to stop it was to hold a mouth full of cold water.

You want to get some sulfadine max as there the best stuff for tooth ache.
The only prob is that you can only get them over the counter so will have to wait till tomorrow.
Toothache has to be one of the worse pains ever :(
The tooth has probably got a abcess under, hence the pain. I had one like that a while back, ended up getting it removed. Went to the dentist and had two options, remove it or root canal, so i replied whats the cheapest? lol
And out came the dentist's pliers lol lol

HOW THE HELL did he find that out?????????
Sounds far to risky it would cause more damage to you probably.I would stick to the medicines, you never know it might only need to be filled depending on the damage of the tooth.

The gel is the nuts for ulcers as bonjela sucks balls for that job.
Lots of people needing root canal work here I can see lol.
Seriously, Rohypnol is also good for blacking out to not feel the pain :D
Bonjela only works sometimes iv heard of the other stuff but never tried it before.

UPDATE:well last night i hardly got any sleep because of the pain so today i rang up a dentist and got an emergency appointment. It was an abcess(sp) as one side of my face looked like an hamsters!lol .so i sat down she gave me an xray etc then just got the pliars out and out it came!but it is some of the worst pain ive had as it was infected so it hurt even more!
but i thought they had to wait until the abcess had gone before they could do any work:confused: .....nevermind now its gone and i've just got a blank space where my tooth was:D
also Paramol pain killers ftw:thumb:
Im glad that now your pain will almost be over and hopefully in a day or so you will feel brand new again :thumb:
did they give you antibiotics? if not then thats a bit odd
