which is the best way to remove the standard speaker behind the dash in a mk1 SR:confused:

Had a look today, and it looks as though you have to take alot of stuff off just to get to it ?

cheers

errrrr lay on the floor facing up the back of dash un-clip the fusebox and move aside a bit link three/four socket entension bars or one big 30-40cm long one with a 8mm socket un-do two retaining bolts and try not to let it fall on your face /head. Not an easy job very fiddly and pain in the ass to put back in good luck!

You can take the whole dash board out to save it being fiddly.

Dude, glove box out (4 screws) = access to the passenger speaker. For the driver side remove the parcel tray and do what ednovasr2 said or remove your dials to get side access. It's not hard but its just a bit of a awkward place and will proably hurt your neck and back for a bit.

If you're one of the lucky one like I am and have a ghetto spec Nova with no dash side vents then you can remove the blanking plates to get at them but seeing as you have an SR then its the hard way for you.
