i have read in TV that a kid has fitted one onto his v6 and it raised the rev limit to 7,100rpm and gained power but dont want to get one and it be s**te lol

couldnt say, but my guess would be you get what you pay for. i got an ebay chip for my golf but ONLY because it claimed to sort out the lumpy idle and throttle responce, and it didnt do a bad job. at that price it might add something, but like you say thats quite an outlay if it doesnt gain much.
