Well, after stripping my xe nova and being left with a shell and some suspension, i've finally figured out what to do with it......
so, over the past 2 months i've been picking peoples brains (thanks dar and iainel) and reading alot of w.i.p threads. and after a go in a mates c16se powered saloon, ive realised that a smallblock toy is not a bad idea. the only thing is, im epicly skint, and this will be my daily when its done, the cav being my weekend toy and showcar (i hope). the plan is simple, sort out the 4 areas of grot, and rebuild it. the full front end is off the car, as the pics show...
the engine is a 14nv lump, most kindly got from nova alex, as a joint deal between me and spudly. the gear box is an f10 5 speed, graciously donated by nova sr-ish, thanks matey:thumb:
well ive garbled on, i'll let the pics talk!

this afternoon, after fixing spuds lovely sr rep:

Sloth
02-03-09, 04:11 PM
well, after a late (12.45) start, it now looks like a nova again. i got the drill and wire wheel out and wire wheeled the inner arches and the crusty bits of the battery tray. then i broke out the welder. 30 mins later nice hole free bits! i did toy with remaking the peice near the headlight hole(that butts upto the wing), but having trimmed it back, i realised that, A, it doesnt get seen, and B, its a cheap toy, so i dont care.... so i just welded it up as neat as poss. then i tetrosyl'd both inner arches, and a few other bits. i hate this stuff, my hands are all spotty still. then after a brew, i boshed the wings headlights and bumpers on. i glass pasted my mesh in, and fitted me grill. extra airflow and all that. oh and yer they are mk1 bumpers, but i had em so i used em. i fitted my centre section, and back box, and cleaned and fitted the front suspension arms etc. i fitted up the wiring for the headlights too. oh and i had a rummage through my cav parts, and found a nice weber 32/36 dgv carb. that will help it move....

ricky, it all fell togetheer last week, and i need something to keep me occupied, lol!
anyways, pics (no welding ones i had no batterys...)

tasty suspension!
