you need the center hinge/mounting (for the seat back)
as well mate, and you allso need the extra hinges on the seat base mate

yes mate you would have to cut them out of another car
its not something you can buy from vauxhall.
if you dont want to weld them in you could bolt them in,
but welds the best mate
good luck mate :thumb:

Be careful if welding though as very near the fuel tank, could all end in tears.

The hinge was bolted on in my shell, I removed it as I am fitting a Sport bench.

I had GSi rear seats in my old Nova. Just fitted them in place without the extra brackets and they were fine. They were perfectly sturdy but probably wouldn't be ideal in a high speed crash tbh.

I stripped it 5 years ago, god knows where it is now. May have gone with the GTE interior when I swapped it for Sport stuff.

may get picked up on MOT test for rear seats insecue mate
but it depends if tester spots it or even gets in the back to
check all the rear seat belts

Passed two MOT's with them like that fine. Like you say though, some fussy ass tester might notice them.

Mine failed this year on the rear seats being insecure.
Its passed for the last 3 years like that....

So i just removed the rear seats. lol

And yeah in a crash the seats do stay in place, id know, pmsl lol
So its perfectly safe tbh, as all the force is placed on the seatbelts.

The bracket is spot welded in. I drilled it out a car I broke and riveted it into my no 60/40 shell...

With mine they have been fine. Ive got the lower front brackets from another car (CVA's track car) to weld in.

Only thing i remember is theres a little bracket where the 40 section is. I just bent it down and was happy with it.

was thinking of bolting the backs of the seats together and effectively making it a bench. would this work and save hassle?
plus mine just had an mot bout 3 weeks ago lol

Whats the point though? its not so easy and 60/40 split can be useful somtimes.

Put it all in and see if it rattles, if it rattles thats an excuse to sort it ;)

Unless there's someone in the back and the car is rear ended.

You got off ok then, my SR rear seats caved in and my box of tools (from the boot) ended up in the back seat!
