Fitting side mounted bucket seats

What is the best method of attaching a side mounted bucket seat to a Nova? Should you just cut off the original seat brackets, strengthen the tunnel and sill and fit two box sections to attach the mounts with nuts and bolts?

I've found a few examples of the above so far, just wondered if anybody had any tips on the matter:

Might as well bump my own thread seeing as it's on the same topic. Finally ordered my seats so...

I know I need around a 25mm/inch size, but what thickness box section is recommended for this job?
