Hey,
I want to take the vinyl of the boot of my Mk1 SR, but i dont know how to go about it
Any Suggestions?
Plus, if anyones got pic off this, i.e. with the boot spoiler but not vinyl then could you post them up?
Cheers

Gently heat it and peel it of. The glue will be the hardest thing to get off. I think IIRC, i used petrol on mine. Then a dman good t-cut!

I Bought A Hair Dryer But You Could Use A Heat Gun And Alot Of Time !!

Hair dryer probably wont get hot enough. Make sure you dont heat one area for too long, the paint will blister and you will pull it off with the vinyl.

Only if you dig it in to the paint work....lay it flat to the vinyl..use it like you are scraping wall paper off a wall. I have used this method on 6 boolids and has never let me down,
This is one i was working on.

thats a beter idea dude as you dont want to rip it all off to find you still want the vinyl there but should be left on imo!!
ATM the ones on here are long life matt black however we are working closely with a vinyl company to reproduce the original GM grey - however as this vinyl was discontinued some 15+yrs ago and most SR voinyl has since fadced a tad its proving a difficult task to find a matt blue grey thats dark enough. Now worried in gloss - just no go in grey - at the moment...

back to the original topic.lollol
i used a candy wheel to take mine off, it removes it in minutes, glue and all.
a candy wheel is a round rubber wheel that goes in a drill, it removes the vynil but doesnt harm the paint below.
they are about £8, but save hours of work...:D
its when sports have their vinyls taken off its blasphamy
i used a heat gun to restore all my plastics :P
