hi didnt know whether to put thin in electrical or mechanical. First of all my nova hates turning left, as the horn always comes on when there is a tight turn which is embarasing lol, also iv got a problem with a bloody annoying squeeking from the heater fan, but when we turn left, dear lord it sounds like a plane starting up i swear lol any soloutions?

Hard to diagnose on the interweb...sounds like you need to check your wiring.

With regards to the heater, dodgy bearing in the motor?

I think BIGS was going to suggest your alternator may be rubbing on the chassis leg.

maybe the horn wire is twisting and somehow setting off or the wheel is knoccking the horn on in the wheel arch if u have on there, some novas had one just by the gear box and one in the drivers wheel arch

directly behind the steering wheel, underneath the top piece of the surrounding plastic is where the horn wire connects, brown wire with a funny looking circular connector, check its connected all good, if its doing your head in you could always disconnect it till your next mot, if u discconect it make sure its wrapped in electrical tape as you dont want a live wire dangling about.

lol - RJ's Nova Donkey!

Re the heater fan, mine did this and it was a bearing - as mentioned open the bonnet - look in the middle directly under the windscreen between wiperblades and theres a black curved plastic cover - remove it (need to undo a few clips) and you'll see a drim shaped fan box - the fan is round.
Turn the fan on and listen to it - it could be something as simple as a stone of twig caught in the blades.

You need to unclip the box (careful not to snap the tabs) and remove foreign object or is bearings jnust get a 2nd hand one from a scrappy.

Or you could follow the guide ade briefly specced and drop some oil into the spindle of the motor on the left hand side as you look at it, this will stop the bearing from squealing, ive just done this and i used GT85 and its shut up fine:thumb:

Take the horn push off the steering wheel, the wire is behind there. Earths to the boss/steering column iirc.

na, just remove the rubber strip. the cover is a stupid thing that breaks when youre to ruff, and for some reason comes out easy, and to put back in its a biatch.

if you disconnect the wiper arm linkage from the wiper motor, will give u a bit extra room to play with.. and this pyramid shaped pillar type piece of plastic ive circled in your pic will need to come out before u take it out, u can pop it out towards yourself.
